LEGAL AID COMMITTEE
Aim :
The Legal Aid Committee of HVPS Law College aims to promote access to justice by providing free legal assistance to the underprivileged and by creating awareness about legal rights and responsibilities among the people of India.
Objective:
The Committee strives to extend legal support to those who cannot afford it and to spread awareness regarding various legal rights. It also seeks to inculcate a sense of social responsibility among law students through active participation in legal aid initiatives and community-oriented projects.
Vision:
Legal aid refers to the provision of assistance to individuals who lack the financial means to secure legal representation and access the judicial system. It is fundamental to ensuring equality before the law, the right to legal counsel, and the right to a fair trial.
The Legal Aid Committee undertakes diverse activities such as providing pro bono legal advice to the needy, conducting awareness drives on socio-legal issues, visiting juvenile homes, assisting individuals in understanding legal procedures, and engaging students in meaningful legal outreach programs. Through these initiatives, the Committee bridges the gap between the legal system and marginalized sections of society.
